Approval Review Committee
Apply Now
Use the online application form to apply. Applications are due November 13, 2009
As defined in SSB 5410, multidistrict online providers are required to go through a quality review process. Part of this process necessitates using a review committee to score application evidence. The Approval Review Committee members will be required to:
- Successfully complete a face-to-face training and online training (to prepare for provider reviews) in early January.
- Fully understand the review criterion (developed by DLD in conjunction with the Online Learning Advisory Committee and the State Board of Education).
- Maintain and manage confidential files until the completion of the review process.
- Prepare accurate reviews using standardized report forms.
- Be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, and accurately follow directions.
Important Dates and Time Commitment
As a committee member, you will commit to a minimum of 20 hours between January and April. A bulk of the hours will be training in January-February and application reviews in February. In April, some committee members will participate in an appeals process.
- January-February: Face-to-face and online training
- February - March: Multidistrict online provider reviews
- April - May: Appeals process
- September - November: Second round of reviews
If you are currently working with an online K-12 school program or teaching online courses for a company or school district, you are not eligible to be a committee member due to a perceived conflict of interest.
