Puyallup Digital Learning strives to create a personalized educational experience via digital learning in a flexible setting that meets each student’s unique life circumstances, and supports his/her individual educational goals while providing preparation for college, career, and life. We believe in academic success through personalization, inspiration, and flexibility. PDL provides a variety of digital opportunities and options for students.
One opportunity is the Phoenix program which provides access for students in grades 9-12 to online courses from OSPI approved provider, Spokane Virtual Learning. At least once a week, students are able to engage in face-to-face support with certificated teachers who are available for academic support.
Another opportunity, called Opens Doors, is inspired by new State law HB 1418. This provides the opportunity to reengage high school drop-outs. Puyallup Open Doors serves students who have dropped out of school or who have otherwise disengaged from the educational process. Students must be between the ages of 16-20 and credit deficient or referred to the program. Instruction occurs partially using online courses through OSPI approved provider, Spokane Virtual Learning, and face-to-face instruction within small/individual tutoring sessions with certified and highly qualified instructors two sessions per week.

Instruction occurs 100% in the digital environment. Certified core teachers are on site to support student learning with one-on-one tutoring.
Instruction occurs partially via the computer classes and partly via on-site instructors who conduct small group/individual tutoring sessions for students. Instructors are certified and highly qualified.
Spokane Virtual Learning was designed to make the online learning experience effective, efficient and user-friendly for students, parents, and administrators. This includes robust and secure tools for communication, grading, and reporting. The platform is completely web-based and hosted on the district server, requiring very little ITC infrastructure.

Outstanding help and consideration. I am so thankful this is available for us. This has been a lifesaving opportunity for her to continue her studies and get her education without falling farther behind. She is happier than I have ever seen her!
