The mission of Central Valley School District is to inspire and empower learners to be contributing citizens in our changing world.

Central Valley Virtual Learning (CVVL) is designed to provide multiple pathways for student learning. This program is for students in grades 8-12 who reside in Central Valley School District. In our district vision to expand individual learning opportunities, we desire to offer an online experience for those student and families that desire this. We will be partnering with Spokane Virtual Learning in launching our program for the 2016-17 school year.

Graduation Alliance (previously known as the American Academy) provides an innovative dropout recovery program in partnership with public school districts. Once the school district authorizes Graduation Alliance’s Dropout Recovery Program, we request the district’s list of kids who are no longer attending school. Then our Recruiting Team gets to work. Our on-the-ground mentor assists with recruiting and holds local in-person meetups. If your students need computers to complete their school work, we provide them. Graduation Alliance handles the work – from recruiting, to enrollment, to course registration. Our state-licensed teachers work with your students at a course level, while our mentors work with your students at a program level. All efforts are backed by our student services and support team and the systems we have built to run our own school.

Central Valley Virtual Learning (CVVL) provides opportunities for all students in grades 8-12 who reside in Central Valley School District. This program will serve students who are in need of an online course for acceleration and credit retrieval, as well as for schedule changes and to offer courses beyond our current course offerings.

Graduation Alliance partners with districts in both their dropout recovery and dropout prevention efforts.

Student-Teacher Contact Requirements

Students will be required to maintain weekly progress and contact with teachers. Students will be receiving assignment directions from their teacher and will be submitting assignments and interacting with their teachers via Blackboard. If a student does not make weekly contact or progress, then an online teacher will contact the student and/or parents to get the student back on track. Counselors and intervention specialists might be employed to assist as needed. Teachers will also create Student Success Plans (intervention plans) for students who do not make monthly progress in their online course.

Courseware Platform

CVSD Online Learning uses the APEX Learning platform.

Graduation Alliance delivers its web-based courses via Brainhoney, a student learning environment developed by Agilix Labs.
