Student Enrollment Instructions:
Students must complete registration requirements to select the proper course and semester
Counselors will determine student eligibility based on state graduation requirements and the student’s individual plan.
Mead School District Health and Fitness is dedicated to providing our K-12 students the knowledge & skills necessary to live healthy active lifestyles today and in the future. We provide positive experiences through a consistent and progressive movement-based curriculum.
Mead S.D. is completing its final year of the Carol M. White PEP grant. We have adopted curriculum at all grades based Five for Life materials. The Online program we will be delivering is based on these materials. Focused Fitness software, Welnet will be the platform that will assist our district in its delivery. Their Online Learning module contains the resources we will utilize in providing instruction.

Mead S.D. will be piloting the Online course in 2016 / 2017 due to funding limitations. Only one section per school will be available in the first year of implementation.
Students served in year one will be: 1) Freshman, who will be facing the requirements of Core 24
2) Jr.s & Sr.s working on credit recovery

Welnet Online Learning supplies a platform for delivery of content to highly qualified endorsed teachers of health and fitness. Teachers will provide feedback to students through the learning management system and are available for support.
The Module contains Five for Life Student Online Learning series 1 & 2 to support student understanding of health and fitness concepts. It’s format includes unit guidelines, vocab, key assignments, & assessments.
Teachers can choose course length, order, content and assignments and can establish prerequisites and availability. Students can access with an internet-enabled device. The module allows teachers to extend the learning for students beyond the classroom to allow for a deeper understanding and application of health and fitness concepts.
