Student Enrollment Instructions:
The enrollment process for students begins with a referral or initial parent contact. The next step is to schedule a parent meeting to go over their online coursework and to map out their written student learning plan for graduation requirements.
Then a program orientation and course enrollment is scheduled with their online teacher and access is provided so that the student may begin their courses. A coursework timeline is established as well as weekly fact to face contacts of 60 minutes will be scheduled.
Quincy School District’s mission statement is that all students graduate from high school and are prepared for the next step in their post-secondary education, career or life. Quincy’s High Tech High/Personalized Learning Center’s mission is that we will eliminate all barriers to students’ education so they are Read Learners, High Achievers, and Successful citizens. Offering multiple educational options is the centers goal for all Quincy School District 6-12 grade. The on-line program is a fully comprehensive program that supports students in general education classes, students with IE P’s and students seeking the rigor of AP classes.

The on-line program is inclusive in that it provides a supported learning environment for students with a wide range of academic abilities. Whether that includes an IEP or 504 plan or includes those students enrolled in tech center, AP or Running start programs. Currently we are serving 9-12 however by 2017 we will be offering the program for 6-8 students as well.
Student-Teacher Contact Requirements
Our online program includes a student-teacher contact requirement. Our requirement is a minimum of 60 minutes per week face to face. We do not provide for emails, text, or phone calls as we believe strongly that adult connection through our on-line program. More time may be required for a student to receive the intervention needed to be successful, in which case the student, and teacher will agree on additional time for success.
The platform will utilize APEX for the 9-12 course offerings. As we move into the offerings for 6-8 grade we will purchase Odyssey Ware. We believe that these two platforms will allow us to meet our students academically where they are at and move them into the future with strong skills.
