Student-Teacher Contact Requirements

EdisonLearning eCourses are designed to be delivered in a variety of ways depending on a school district or school’s program requirements. Our courses have been utilized as part of custom drop-out prevention/recovery solutions in a blended learning environment, as part of a blended/hybrid classroom environment or as stand-alone asynchronous courses.

Regardless of the method for delivery, online teachers play a significant role in the delivery of the online curriculum. One of the primary benefits of virtual education is the individualized or tailored learning construct that allows students to advance at a pace that suits them as well as the way in which they best learn. Our eCourses include an instructional design that provides a virtual support network and community to support the student. The course delivery system includes specific features designed to promote student-to-student interaction as well as student-teacher interaction.

The eSchoolware delivery platform includes a closed messaging system allowing direct teacher-student interaction on demand. The forum and blog features also promote community interaction among the students in a course and the instructor, again on demand.

Courseware Platform

The EdisonLearning courseware platform is a fully integrated course delivery platform, information management system and content management system that greatly reduces the effort required to manage and effectively deliver an online program. In addition to being the access point for student access to their coursework, the platform provides teachers and program administrators with the tools to effectively track and report on your online program that is typically not possible with other systems. This multi-tenant, web based solution offers extensive reporting capabilities and the flexibility to deliver custom reports as needed. With a single sign-on, students, parents, instructors, and administrators find everything they need at their fingertips.

Students and teachers access eCourses via a cloud-based delivery platform hosted by EdisonLearning. This allows partners to implement eCourses quickly and easily without a significant investment in specialized technology. A personal computer with a web browser (that meet EdisonLearning’s minimum hardware and software requirements), a minimal number of free software plug-ins (e.g., Flash, Adobe Reader, etc.) and an internet connection are all are required to use our eCourses. Students, teachers and administrators have access to courses anytime and anywhere.

All components of the eCourses are available online. An online pdf textbook is included with each course that serves as a companion guide to the lecture content presented in each lesson.

All course features and functionality are accessed through a common student portal that discreetly segments system functionality accessible to students.
