Linux/Unix
Access to Red Comet courses and other content is available using most versions of Unix, but support for Unix is not available through Red Comet.

Dialup Internet Connections – Not recommended.

Students and parents can access Red Comet courses and other content over a dialup Internet connection, but the experience will be sub-optimal. Red Comet does not support dialup connections and strongly recommends DSL or cable Internet connections.

Headsets – (highly recommended)

To provide the best online learning experience for the student, it is recommended that noise-cancelling headsets be used. Red Comet recommends the LogicTech ClearChat Comfort USB headset. These headsets can be found at various stores or Online for under $30. However, headsets are NOT needed to complete the courses.

All world language courses require the student to have a microphone and voice recording program. Red Comet will accept recordings made using the student’s computer. The student need not invest in buying any new equipment or software.

Network Requirements

Red Comet uses Brainhoney / Buzz System (LMS) for its course delivery and communication.

Parents/Guardians, School Administrators, Teachers, and Counselors can request access to our LMS to view student’s progress, and to correspond with the student or our administration or technical staff.

Schools may also preview our courses before they enroll their students.
