This course taught me a lot, but it was badly put together. The text used really bad grammar, and often gave confusing or contradictory instructions. The audio files were sometimes mixed up. However, the course covered a lot of material. Chinese is really hard to learn- there are four parts to each word that you have to remember: the sound, the tone, the character, and the Pinyin spelling. The course tended to assign around 60 or 50 new words (I counted!) in the first section of each Unit, which was a complete overload. It was impossible to learn all those characters in the few days the schedule gave for the first section, which was frustrating.
