The 2nd semester of Chinese I was much worse than the first. There were many mixed up audio files. Also, the text of the course was sometimes incorrect (for instance, saying that the word 'qian' meant 'after', when it really means 'before'). Like the first semester, the grammar in the text was terrible and the instructions contradictory. Also, we switched teachers a little way into the second semester, and I found the second teacher to be unhelpful. She accidentally inserted a section quiz grade into the semester exam spot in the gradebook, and I emailed her at least three times, very politely, about it. She never replied at all, and I'm not sure if the grade was ever fixed- at my last check before I was barred from the course because I'd finished everything, it hadn't been. If that problem wasn't fixed, my grade is 50 points lower than it should be.
Overall, if you want to learn a language, don't try Chinese from Aventa unless it's your only option, because the course isn't very good.
