Start-Up Demo Accounts

Getting up and running in online courses within the first few days is an essential ingredient for student success. However, the learning curve can be steep for first-time online learners and for the staff supporting them at their school. The demo accounts below can give you both a running start.

When to Use the Start-Up Demo Accounts

These accounts can be accessed for exploration at any time. But they will offer the most advantage to you and your students before students enroll in an online course.

How to Access the Start-Up Demo Accounts

Students or CS team members (administrators, techs) interested in seeing the online course environment and how students are directed to get started should follow these steps.

  1. Go to the DLD Email web page and click on Login.
  2. Read the "Students! READ THIS FIRST!" message to see some DLD caveats about the demo accounts.
  3. Select a welcome letter, and locate the provider demo login and URL.
  4. To get the most out of the demo experience, students should read the welcome letter carefully and check out the provider's orientation.

Teacher/Mentors or other CS team members interested in seeing the types of communications sent to T/Ms from course providers and online instructors should follow these steps.

  1. Go to the DLD Email web page and click on Login.
  2. Read the "Course Support! READ THIS FIRST!" message to see some DLD caveats about the demo accounts and notes about how the providers get course login info to your students.
  3. Select a welcome letter, and locate the provider demo login and URL.
  4. To get the most out of the demo experience, read the welcome letter carefully, check out the provider's orientation, and review the specified tech requirements.

Important Things to Note

  • Students will be given their own DLD email accounts after registration, where they will receive welcome letters, course logins, etc.
  • Students will not receive credit for completing a provider's orientation via the DLD Demo accounts; these accounts are for practice only!
